Tested by Coffee Lovers, Designed for Daily Life

GOALS

To create a coffee storage container that truly works for real people, we conducted hands-on user testing with daily coffee drinkers. We wanted to see how they interacted with different designs, what felt intuitive, and what needed improvement. The goal? To create a container that’s easy to use, keeps coffee fresh, and fits seamlessly into daily routines—at home or on the go.

METHODOLOGY

  • We invited coffee drinkers who brew at home and take coffee on the go to try two different lid designs. Through real-world tasks like opening, filling, scooping, pouring, and cleaning, we observed how they used the containers, where they hesitated, and what they naturally gravitated toward. Their insights helped us refine the design in ways that actually matter.

OUTCOMES

  • Keep it Simple – The Slide Lid was the clear favorite. It’s easy to open, works one-handed, and seals tight without any hassle.

  • The Scoop Stole the Show – The built-in doser was a huge hit, but its placement needed tweaking. Users loved it but wanted a design that felt more natural and spill-proof.

  • Freshness Matters – People want to see that their coffee is sealed tight. A visible gasket gave extra confidence, even though most didn’t notice the CO2 valve itself.

  • Scooping Wins Over Pouring – While some expected to pour coffee straight from the container, most naturally reached for the scoop. Making both actions easy was key.

  • More Than Just Travel-Friendly – While designed with portability in mind, many testers saw this as an ideal at-home storage upgrade, keeping coffee fresher and more organized.
